Reverend Edward Lazarchak

The Reverend Edward Lazarchak has been serving congregations since 1975 and sees no reason to stop anytime soon. Prior to coming to Zion, he served a nine month tour of ministry with St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Prior to that he served 18 years with Christ Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, Pa., a parish that he was originally sent to close! This has been the kind of ministry he has been involved in since he became a minister of the Holy Gospel. He has had the ability to work with congregational splits and those that have been hurting, wounded, and dying.

Before college and the ordained ministry, pastor served his country for eleven years in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the infantry, military police, and in the photo combat intelligence unit in Washington, DC and Quantico, VA. He was directly involved in the Cuban missile crisis. While serving in Vietnam, he was a combat photographer and retrieved information on both the Vietcong and Americans dealing in the trafficking of drugs and the black market.

He has been married to his high school sweetheart Susan (Weiss) for 43 years. They are the parents of two grown boys and three granddaughters. Home for the Lazarchaks for the past 19 years has been Bethlehem, PA, where they currently share their home with their golden retriever, Sam.

But the only way to really meet Pastor Lazarchak is to join us on Sunday mornings to hear his inspirational messages. Or give him a call during the week if you would like to meet him privately. You'll be glad that you did.
